King of Kontomblé
The King of Kontomblé is traditionally represented by a sculpture of wood or iron. The statues are displayed in the home of most Dagara families, as a powerful totem for good luck, long life, and to help resolve all types of situations, struggles, and challenges that may arise in the life of the family. The King of Kontomblé brings only good and benevolent power.
In Dagara cosmology, after the Great Spirit, or Creator, “Muen”, finished the great work of creating Earth, there was more work to do in other realms of the Universe, and so the Creator moved on to carry forward those efforts. Before departing, the Creator made the Kontomblé to help teach humans everything they would need to know to live good lives, and steward the Earth.
The Kontomblé are very specifically focused on all aspects of healing. The King of Kontomblé represents the highest and most powerful form healing and stewarding the Earth for the most benevolent outcomes for all Creation.
